Brazil's OranjeBTC to Launch Bitcoin-Treasury Preferred-Share ETF, Targeting September Debut
According to BlockBeats, OranjeBTC (B3: OBTC3), a Brazilian treasury company focused on bitcoin, announced on Aug. 13 the upcoming launch of the Digital Yield ETF (DIGY11). The product, created together with 3R Investimentos and MarketVector, is expected to be listed on B3 at the beginning of September. DIGY11's initial allocation will be placed in preferred shares offered by Strategy under the ticker STRC and by Strive under the ticker SATA. Investors will receive monthly income distributions in Brazilian reais, and the fund promises daily liquidity as well as currency hedging. Under present market conditions, the fund's estimated annualized distribution return stands at the Brazilian CDI benchmark plus about 3% to 5%. Importantly, this projection excludes any effect of movement in the fund's share price and is not guaranteed. DIGY11 does not purchase bitcoin directly. Rather, it uses preferred shares related to bitcoin treasury companies, providing a local route for Brazilian investors to obtain dollar earnings and exposure to the wider bitcoin ecosystem.
